THE NEW ORDER OF YOUR TIME

Remember the little wall plaque that you've seen in the marine gift shops that proclaims "The worst day on the boat is better than the best day at the office" or the coffee cup that says "The time spent aboard a boat is not counted against the time that we're given to live"? Well, call us health nuts, but I believe that we've just added something to the length and the quality of your life.

How's that? Well, we have suddenly made the 4-day work week (better stated, the 3-day weekend) available to every boat lovin' one of you. And hows that?

Wireless Internet allows you to be in two places at once (sort of). Imagine this scenario: After work on Thursday, you take a leisurely drive down to the boat. There is no traffic, mind you - it's THURSDAY. You ease into Rock Hall, not stressed, and you head for your favorite restaurant to take advantage of the pre-weekend specials that you've always missed. After dinner and maybe a sip of wine as the sun sets, you settle into the boat for the evening.

Friday, traditionally the most wasted day of the business week, you fire up the laptop computer from the cockpit of your boat and connect to the office via your new high speed internet connection. Go ahead, do a little business. It will probably be more productive than what you would have done back in the office, daydreaming about the boat, the bay, sunshine, and blue skies...

HOW WIRELESS INTERNET WORKS

Although it's not a new concept, it is new to the boating world, and if it can add to the pleasure of life on the seas, it is a good thing. Imagine the realities of a high speed wireless internet connection from your boat. Business aside, the world is at your slip. You will be able to download maps and charts, travel information to any part of the Bay and beyond, weather, sporting events that you can't ever seem to see on a Rock Hall TV, current movies, mail, and pictures. Stay in touch with family and friends, entertain the kids.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

- A laptop computer with a wireless card - these cards cost about $50 and we can supply them.
- Registration of your MAC address with BayBroadBand - we do this for you.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

In order to bring wireless connectivity to the marina, the entire marina is "hot". The cost to each slip will be a very nominal $125 for the entire year (or about $.35/day). This is a one time group rate, per year.
